1950`s Brass Vintage Rocket Paper Weight Spec-Toy Space Whistle From Mold
This brass / bronze paper weight is from one of the Injection Mold Cavities that make a 1950's Spec-Toy Space Signal Whistle.
You can still find the rocket whistles on eBay once in a while.
This Brass block made the rocket side of the whistle that had the fins. It really is cool. I tried to take pictures in different lighting, since it is hard to take pictures of something that reflects light from a concave reflection.
We have approximately 8 of these from the cavities of the injection mold. They are unpolished, as some people / museums like things as original as possible. They can be highly polished with a polishing compound like Brasso (about at a hardware store).
Very cools, as it was before any country actually launched a person into space!

The weight is approximately 2.5" x 5.75" x 1" thick and weighs about 3 lbs. I didn't have a ruler to measure, but the dimensions are pretty close. Each Cavity is a slightly different geometry, as the 4 end pieces have rounded edges in 1 corner, to fit the mold. Own a piece of space history!
