Today we are offering a Lionel 204 Santa Fe engine pair along with two illuminated blue stripe passenger cars!
This set contains an original pairing of postwar #204 engines, one diesel, one dummy, done in a dark blue with yellow stripe and red detailing. These were popular engines in the 1960s Alco series offered by Lionel. You also get two silver-colored plastic Santa Fe passenger cars with blue stripes down the sides and the silhouettes of travelers visible through the plastic windows. One car, #2412, features a paneled top window dome, and the other, 2414, has no dome but complements its brother car perfectly. All engines and cars have their couplers, and appear to have all components intact, but are untested.
Dimensions/engine and dummy: 10" in length, 2-1/2" in width, 3-3/4" in height
Dimensions/2412 passenger car: 11" in length, 3-5/8" in height (including dome), 2-3/8" in width
Dimensions/2414 passenger car: 11" in length, 3" in height, 2-3/8" in width
Lot is being sold in as-found, untested condition. There are many small marks and dings commensurate with age and play. Dummy has significant rust/corrosion on its wheels and couplers. Passenger car 2412 also has rust/corrosion on its wheels and couplers. Please review all photos and and ask any questions before buying. This colorful vintage set will make a fantastic addition to any Lionel collection. Fresh to the market from a Rhode Island collector's estate!
