For your consideration is a marvelous antique candle sconce, made from an Ostrich egg and solid hand-tooled silver
Superb repousse ornamentation throughout
The candle holder bowl is a stylized floral bloom
Reticulated back plate
Antique, second half of the 19th/very early 20th century. Indo-British, Thai or Southeast Asian, intended for the European market

photos below. All original. Silver parts exhibit beautiful noble patina, developed over time. The ostrich egg has a crack as pictured and small pieces missing at the joint with the base. Of course, with simple tooling, it can be replaced or repaired. Displays exceptionally well nevertheless!
