    Description

    Bold and striking Japanese silver box, ca 1910. Rectangular with straight sides and hinged cover. Allover spot hammering. On cover top is applied chrysanthemum with entwined and waving tentacular petals that drape over the sides. Petal-bordered keyhole. With key. Stained wood-lined interior. Open bottom. Marked "Sterling" with stamp for Kuhn & Komor, an Asia-based Hungarian retailer with shops in Yokohama and Shanghai.
