Superb antique Burmese box worked in repousse
high quality silver (approx .925)
Anglo-colonial Burma - early 1900s (1900-1920)
bottom with intricate chiseled floral work of evident British influence
richly embossed with very high relief details and figures
in the center is one of the legendary Kings of Pagan seated on the throne
on each side of the box other figures in relief
the box weighs 340 g
and measures approximately cm 16 x 11 x 6.5
in excellent condition for the age
the box has a nice patina that I only removed on the inside to check the quality of the silver
