Beautiful antique bronze sculpture with outstanding details, depicting a young girl with flowers standing by the well, plucking a forget-me-not flower, c. late 19th C.
The sculpture is finely cast, with moving parts, and has amazing details.
It was cast in pieces which were put together with great craftsmanship: the water jug on which the girl rests her hand can be rotated, and the flower she holds in her hand also rotates. The girl also moves slightly on the base.
The well is very detailed as well, with the water flowing through a lion's head mouth.
Condition: age-appropriate wear, some areas with loss of patina, mostly on her hands, but overall excellent condition for its age.
The statue is not marked, but undoubtably of very high quality.
