Rare Bronze House of Corrections Plaque Chicago (Cook Cnty Jail) 1955 24x24x5/8". This is a rare one of a kind heavy bronze plaque from the original men's dormitory at the House of Corrections located at 26th and California Street in Chicago. This location eventually became the Cook County jail. The mayor at the time was Martin H. Kennelly and his name appears on the plaque as well as other key names at that time. They include Frank G. Sain, Warden, George De Ment, Commissioner of Public Works and Paul Gerhardt Jr., City Architect. It is believed that this is the only one in existence.
