    Description

    Up for bid is a fine antique Indian od Southeast Asian silver canister box with repousse chased decoration.  The piece is 3 1/4 inches tall by about 2 1/2 inches in diameter and weighs 90 grams.  The piece is cylindrical, with a domed slide-on lid and a low ring foot.  The lid and body are both elaborately chased with palm trees, elephants, dogs and antelope.  The body also has a repeating band of fish.  It has not been monogrammed.  There are no marks, other than a center punch inside the body.  It is into unusual to find unmarked Asian silver; I guarantee it to be solid silver and not plated..
    Condition on the piece is good.  It has visible tool marks form the forming, but no repairs or alterations.  There are just normal signs of use.  An very interesting old box!
