Superbly crafted bronze metal building replica of the Parthenon, the ancient Greek temple that sits atop the Acropolis in Athens. This vintage souvenir building is probably the best of the Parthenon miniatures, even though it looks more like the Theseum because of its six columns in front, not eight. The replica is highly detailed, from the overlapping tiles on the roof to the individually fluted Doric columns all around. It's cast in bronze or bronzed metal with a verdigris patina, and is mounted to a very heavy white marble or onyx base that reads "PARTHENON - MADE IN GREECE". This architectural miniature stands approx 5" x 3" x 3". The underside is covered in faded red felt. Seller Lot #21042-CARM.
