    Ivan Saltykov, set of 12 Russian 0.910 gilt silver and enamel spoons, in Faberge style, from the late 19th or early 20th century, measuring 5 1/2'' in length by 1'' in width and bearing hallmarks as shown. This set is sold in the box which is shown. Total weight is 8.4 troy ounces (261,2 grams).
    Ivan Saltykov’s workshop in Moscow became famous for his intricate filigree items in Pan-Slavic style. Decorative motifs were usually based on Russian folk traditions with the accent on floral ornaments. The firm produced fine silver tableware, flatware, decorative objects and jewelry. Saltykov usually chose shades of blue, red, green, white and purple enamels in most of his creations. Today, Saltykov’s works are present in the collections of most important national museums in Russia and was sold at prestigious auction houses such as Christie's.
