Superb Quality Korean 99% Pure Silver Oval Dish
Presented is a superb quality Korean silver dish. This piece dates to around the 1960s-1970s. The dish is made from 99% pure silver, which is a distinctly higher standard than sterling 925 (92.5%). The lid of the dish is beautifully decorated with raised stylized lotus flower and leaf designs, against a finely textured background. The designs are done in both bright silver and gilt, so they really stand out. The sides of the dish have a design of small flowers and leaves, very lush and densely set. The dish has a divider inside, dividing it into four compartments. The lid of the dish is done in the form of a plum or other fruit, with a rich gold wash.
This piece is in great overall condition. There is a very minor dent to the side of the base, which is hard to notice without careful inspection. Otherwise, there are no splits, no breaks, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the dish is stamped with the Korean stamp translating to 'pure silver' as well as 99 for 99% silver purity.
The dish measures about 9 1/8 by 7 5/8 by 4 inches, LxWxH.
The dish weighs 1077 grams or 38 regular ounces
