Today we have a pre-war , vintage Lionel 225E 2-6-2 die-cast steam engine and 2235W die-cast whistle tender with box coupler on back! This engine, just in, is all there. The boiler may have had some re-finishing done at some point, hard to tell. The casting is solid, no cracks or breaks I can see. The whistle in the tender, keeps working even when the whistle button is released so it will need some attention. The pre-war box coupler on the back is un-tested. The engine runs well and smoothly, the e-unit works well. the headlight works. Both marker lamps are present with jewels in them. The ornamental horn swivels round on the boiler top. The nut holding it comes loose inside the boiler. Because of the age of this unit, it is being Sold As Is. Study the pictures, you can make your own assessment and be the judge on condition!
